The male moved steadily over the snowy area. His breath came out in puffs of white but that did not faze him in the least. Snow and cold did not bother him as much as the dreary heat of summer; where he wished he could shed all his fur and run under the shades of the trees.
Hunger gnawed at his belly, reminding him that he had not eaten in the past few days. A snort rose from his throat and out his nostrils. 'What good is hunting when what you crave for isn't that easy to catch on your own?' he thought to himself. A small sigh escaped his lips. There was no use arguing with himself again, as he had done on several occasions since leaving his home. The male kept moving forward, waiting for the scent of the wolf pack border to reach his nose. It did not take long.
He stopped, bent his head down and sniffed at the ground. This was definitely it. His head and front paws were just past the border. Pierced ears pricked forward, he listened.
"What are you listening for, Spikey?" he asked himself in a harsh growl. He didn't even know. He knew the right thing was to let out a howl, to alert the alphas he was there. But, for some reason, that just sounded unreliable. That's all he had been doing in every wolf pack he had stumbled across and after a while it just lost its affect.
But he knew it would be his only chance. With a short, sharp growl, he lifted his head to the sky, balancing himself square. He inhaled the cold air, feeling it lightly bite at his lungs. Then exhaled in a loud howl that the chill air carried. It had risen deep within him, as if this was his last hope of survival, and had been let out to alert any nearby wolves that they were not alone.
[OOC: Just trying for the Minarron pack. So ummm...yeah <.< *waits*]
