The snow falls freely and the winds sears past, and no sign of the sun has shown for days. The cold sets in, forming crystals on wrinkled tree branches and abandoned dens. A light-blue fox picks its way through the ragged snow clumps, sniffing here and there. Her fur is thick, but she is shivering, as the harsh wind penetrates it. Suddenly she spots several scattered pawprints in the ground. She wanders up to them, her muzzle close to the ground. She can smell trouble, but from where? Her bright green eyes flash silently as she remembers the torture she had gone through in her pup days. She had vowed to help any creature that was in need from then on. She picked up her pace, tracking the pawprints in stealth amidst the ever-falling snowflakes.

A snow white wolf looks around the bearen land behind her, scenting something in the distance. She lifts her muzzle to the sky, catching the scent. Without thought of what the creature may be, she turns and follows her own tracks, shivering in the bitter cold winds...

The blue fox hears something in the distance and catches a faint scent of a wolf. She shudders, as the wolves had been the ones that had tortured her, but as she pauses and sniffs the air, she realises the scent is of good, not evil. She glances around but sees nothing, and shakes herself out. Then she sees a grey wolf cub in the distance, battered and barely breathing. There are faint red patches on its coat. The blue fox whines and lopes over to the cub. The wolf blinks painfully and slowly turns its gold eyes towards the advancing fox. It swallows and whimpers softly.
The fox is startled by the golden eyes. Flashes of time come whirring back to her, replaying in her mind. She remembers the savage golden eyes of the wolf that she had suffered from in her puphood, and she knew that this was the cub of that very wolf.
As she thinks, she sees also very faint specks on the icy horizon. She squints carefully and sees outlines of large wolves, lying lifeless. She knew that these were the wolf cub's parents.
What could have destroyed such powerful wolves?? The fox whines softly and gingerly scoops the wolf cub onto her back. After casting around carefully for any prying eyes over the barren snow, her four paws swiftly spring into action, moving to an unheard rhythm, wondering about that good-natured wolf she had scented some way off...

The white wolfess continues to run against the snowy winds, following the scent of the fox and an unknown wolf only a short distance away.
Her four black paws swiftly carry her over the icy lands in the direction of the two canines when she sees the many bodies of wolves strewn over the white snow. "Who could have done this?" she gasped to herself.

The blue vixen slowly comes to a stop, taking care not to injure the wolf cub on her back. She can scent that wolf again, and it is even closer than before... She turns, deciding to find the wolfess herself instead of waiting to be found. She shifted her shoulders slightly to reposition the wolf cub on her back, and then she headed off again, this time back to where she had come from. She follows her quickly fading pawprints that she had laid before, wondering whether it was a right decision to turn back, especially after her torment from the wolves. But she knew that not all wolves were evil, and she did not halt or pause. She pushed the negative thoughts out of her mind, the silken feathers attached to her ear flowing swiftly behind her.

She slows in pace as she scents the fox nearby. After walking a little more, she finally sees a light blue figure waling in the snow. She cautiously walked toward her, not wanting to startle her.

The vixen pauses and regards the white wolfess. She observed the black wolf paws. The vixen knew that this wolf was not an evil one, and slowly advanced, being as cautious as possible. She bayed softly, in careful greeting. She stopped walking when she was but a metre from the wolf. She gazed into the wolfess' eyes, deep and knowing. Blue with white, vixen and wolfess. Only the wind made a sound, and only the snow held movement. Then a chilling silence filled the air. The wind stopped whistling and howling. The vixen turned, afraid of what she might see...

The wolfess watches with intent eyes as the vixen turns away. The wolfess sits for a minute lookling around her as the wind stops whistling around her, but pulls herself up and slowly takes a few steps around the blue fox, howling softly as she did so in greeting to her previous bark.

A dark gray wolf walks stoicly through the deep snow drifts, following the scent and paw tracks of the white Beta wolfess. He looks up from the snow and spots her, sitting not far away. The quiet bay of a fox is carried to him on the now still cold air. He frowns and picks up the pace, approaching the two canines.

Keerse pauses in his steps to howl a reply before continuing towards her. He eyes the blue vixen suspiciously as he sits next to his packmate. "Asia, I've been looking for you," he says quietly, never taking his eyes from the fox.

Keerse twitches his nose slightly, his bulky frame shifting further into the snow. "We need to move on. Something bad has happened here. The scouts found bodies, but you know that." He looks over the snow laden plains. "We don't know if the attackers are still here." He pawed restlessly at the snow with a forepaw, looking at the blue fox with distrust. Through out his explanation, his voice remained low and whispered.

Asia shifts slightly, "Yes... you're right, but have the scouts reported what pack attacked?" She stands and takes a step backward toawrd the packlands.

Keerse rises and follows her, shaking his head. "No. It..." he trails off for a moment, unsure of how to say it. "It's not a pack they recognize. In fact, we're not even sure it was a pack at all." He lifts his head to scent the wind.
