((This one's inspired from a trailer video for Killer 7. Lol. I kinda like to type counter-terror stories if I can, like Tom Clancy. If there is such a thing, I guess this can qualify as modern fantasy story? Hope you'll like it.))
For many years, Sam has worked with the Police. He was an ice dragon. This was most strange as they never employed a dragon into law enforcement before. But he had proved useful to them. He was friendly to humans and he had a heart for justice. Also, he loved to fly and could expertly weave through the many high-rise buildings and corporate towers. And on most occasions, he has helped them to catch criminals whenever he was out. This made him special and of course well-liked by many. However, there were people who had a heart of darkness. People who used violence to try to get what they wanted. Sam was aware of such people and did not like them.
Operation Metal Bust
Time: 15:13
Location: Cyprus Ultra Corporation Building
154 Westwood Boulevard
A man suspected to be armed entered the building and has believed to have killed most of the employees who were working at that time. Number of casualties and location of gunman remain unknown. Unit 52 has gone in to subdue the man but is reported to have gone MIA. Other units have already cordoned off the area. Inspector Parker is at the scene and has requested for SWAT.
"Roger that, Command. SWAT team on the way. ETA 5 minutes."
Sergeant Jung Yong-Kee was a veteran SWAT officer who was commended several times for his bravery in the line of fire. He was an excellent gunman and has entered many shooting competitions. Although he is normally at the firing range everyday, practising his marksmanship, he and his colleagues always made time to go and have fun with their large reptilian friend.
"Do you think our Sam will be here to watch us do our job? He hasn't seen such a major crime take place before," asked Corporal Jenny Garland, Jung's colleague and childhood friend. "Yeah, I believe so...although I wouldn't say he would be watching us if I were you. He has always stopped every crime he sees. He definitely will be participating in this one. I'm sure of it," he replied. Jenny nodded her head in understanding. She could rely on Jung. He knew the dragon better than anyone else.
The van carrying them stopped at their destination. "Everyone out! Lets move!", shouted Jung. The officers moved at lightning pace. They did not waste any time. They were immediately brought to a larger van parked outside the cordon. There stood Inspector Parker, the man who was to oversee their actions. The SWAT team was then brought into the van.
Inspector Parker began his briefing, "As you already know, there is a gunman inside the building. What I need you to do is go in, find any surviving victims, notify us so that we can escort them out, and kill that loose cannon. I cannot stress the fact that Cyprus Ultra has done for the city many things. You must have him killed no matter what. He's armed and dangerous and I believe he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal...whatever that is. Now move out! We'll keep in contact by radio." The officers moved out at a quick pace and in orderly manner. Jung was about to leave with his men when the Inspector told him one more thing, "If that dragon comes, remember, he has the right to intervene. He has a reason to do so. Besides, he's only made of ice, so he'll only freeze the guy up." Jung nodded and exited the vehicle. He didn't need to know that however. Everyone knew, but the Inspector has a habit of reminding people of what they already knew.
The SWAT team checked their gear. M12s, check. Pistol, check. Helmet, check. "Oh, tighten that thing up," said Jenny as she adjusted one of the officer's vest. Not long after, they could hear a shrill cry. It was Sam. He had come at just the right time. The other officers had wanted to cheer for his arrival, but they were afraid that his presence will be made known to the gunman in the building. So they cheered for him in their minds. Sam didn't mind. He felt happy anyway. He could read their minds after all. "Hey Jung, so that bird arrived, huh," said Inspector Parker jokingly over the radio. "Yup, the bird has arrived," replied Jung.
Jung and his men were ready to go on with the operation. They were let through and, with weapons in hand, safety off, they climbed up its stairs proceeded to the front of the building. "Ready men," Jung asked, "if yes, open and clear." With haste, they opened the door of the building and moved in. "All clear," shouted one of the officers.
Sam instinctively flew upwards to about 15 storeys up to survey the inside of the building. Using his thermal eyes, he scanned the building. What he saw shocked him. He could see a lot of cold, dead bodies. They were dark purple in his eyes and layed lifeless on the ground. He scanned the building some more. Moving five stories up, he saw some more purple imaging. But this shocked him even more. Unlike those that he saw a few seconds ago, these purple bodies were up and walking in a funny manner. "This is strange," he thought to himself.
He flew up some more. Five storeys below the penthouse level, he could finally see heat. There were three people at that level. Two were kneeling down and one was standing. The standing one pulled up his arm and pointed at the two. Suddenly, it looked like his finger had sparked a big spark and one of them fell to the floor. He did the same thing to the other one and he too fell to the ground. "It must be the gunman," he thought, "and he had shot them." However, he did not interfere. He will leave it to his human friends. Immediately, he established a telepathic link to Jung.
((I think I'll stop here. It looks too long. I hope you'll look forward to seeing more, especially the "walking purple bodies" part. Lol. |P
Oh yeah, for your information, the M12s is actually a sub-machine gun made by Beretta))
